HEAVY METAL TESTING

Our seaweed is hand harvested by us and ( licensed harvesters.)
We work year round to provide our customers with the freshest quality products available.

Everything we manufacture comes from live ocean plants, straight out of the cold pristine waters , not from seaweed that washed up on shore.
We ensure that all seaweed we use is naturally sun dried to retain all of its nutrients at the highest possible level.
Seaweed is a non-pollutant, renewable, and when harvested correctly, a sustainable resource.
we harvest in remote areas of clean water , and harvest away from boat traffic, discharge areas, and any type of marinas and anchorages and the seaweeds have been consumed safely for centuries, and do check our seaweeds annually for heavy metals to make sure there are no significant changes.
Since the tsunami and nuclear catastrophe at Fukushima, Japan in March 2011, we have had our sea vegetables tested for radioactivity annually. They show no evidence of fallout from Fukushima.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The earth has already given us what we need. Plants — ocean plants especially, among the oldest life on this planet — have spent millions of years adapting to survive: storing water through drought, secreting their own sunscreens against harsh light, shifting color to draw in the species that help them and disguise themselves from the ones that don’t. They’ve weathered wind, heat, freezing, and flood, and come out more resilient for it.

Until roughly a hundred years ago, plants were humanity’s primary source of food, shelter, medicine, and personal care. They’ve been our oldest allies on this earth, and they still hold solutions to the problems we face every day.

At Alkaline Jungle, that’s the education we’re here to give: helping people find their way back to a more natural way of living — one built on what nature has always provided — and understanding what actually serves both the planet and the people who are meant to care for it.
